Srinagar: ‘Khyen Chyen’, Kashmir’s first and only Food & Beverages journal had invited food writers to channel their thoughts and creativity into a piece that captures the way they think about food. The aim was to inspire a new generation to pick up the baton when it comes to food writing.

The topics given were:

  1. There’s more to Kashmiri cuisine than Wazwan
  2. Kashmir’s Winter Food: A Lost Heritage
  3. Kashmir’s Street Food- A Critical View

A large number of write-ups were received and after scrutiny by the judges three writers were adjudged as winners.

  • Taniya Rigzin
  • Dr Isra Wasim

Valleys three top notch hotels Lalit Grand Palace, Vivanta by Taj & Khyber Resorts & Spa, Gulmarg had collaborated in the initiative and would host each winner along with a companion for lunch on the new year day.
