Chai Jaai, which is a well known tea house, has put together a dinner with items from Malayali cuisine to help raise funds for relief efforts.

Being no strangers to the devastating destruction caused by floods, Kashmir has shown immense response towards helping the needy people of Kerala.

While both the State government as well as the civil society have sent out help, the foodies of Kashmir too are doing their bit.

The dinner, which includes specialities like chicken 65 and Malabar Fish Curry, is a humble effort to help rebuild Kerala, said Raheel Khursheed, a food enthusiast and a self-taught chef. “Food is a great unifier and nothing brings us closer than a meal. What better way of standing by the people of Kerala than to celebrate their cuisine and help raise funds for relief efforts in the state”, says Khursheed.

The #KashmirforKerala dinner is being hosted at Chai-Jaai on August 25. Roohi Nazki, owner of Chai-Jaai, said the visuals of Kerala floods “resonated with every Kashmiri because we went through the same events in 2014”.
